“In my practice, I aim to build strong clinical relationships with children and families to empower them to attain their goals.  I specialize in working with children who present with anxiety, trauma and self-esteem issues.I enjoy working to help children and families work through difficult transitions such as divorce and peer related issues. In my work, I strive to understand family dynamics and embrace each child’s individuality. I strongly believe that children and families must ultimately work together in order for there to be positive change.I work to help children and parents utilize coping techniques, set goals and express their emotions in appropriate ways. In my free time, l love to cook, listen to audio books, spend time with my family and friends and enjoy the outdoors.”

Melissa is a Masters Level Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, specializing in the treatment of children experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioral disorders. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Melissa utilizes a variety of evidence base therapy models in her approach, including play therapy, narrative therapy, and attachment-based therapy. Melissa has certifications in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a postgraduate certification in Cognitive Therapy through the Beck Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania. Melissa collaborates with schools, pediatricians and other allied health personnel to provide a comprehensive and individualized treatment approach.
